Symphonic Concert on the 130th Anniversary of Karol Szymanowski's Birth


The Karol Szymanowski Society and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra working in collaboration with the Ludwig van Beethoven Association invites the residents of Zakopane to listen to an extraordinary symphonic concert to be held on 21 July 2012 at 7pm in the Holy Cross Church in Zakopane.

The concert is part of the “Jeszcze polska muzyka” series presenting the most valuable, forgotten Polish symphonic works of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries against a background of European masterpieces. The framework of the project, referred to in the title, is the preservation of Polish cultural heritage as an indicator of formation of national identity.
Łukasz Błaszczyk (violin) and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra will take part in the concert on Saturday July 21 under the baton of Maestro Massimiliano Caldi. The artists will perform the works of Józef Michał Poniatowski, Franciszek Lessel, and Johannes Brahms, and on the occasion of  the 130th anniversary of his birth, Karol Szymanowski’s Second Violin Concerto will be performed.

Admission is free.
